In addition, at wavelengths from 260 nm to 400 nm, all slopes of fluence-response curves were approximately equal, and reciprocity was obtained at each wavelength tested.The action spectrum obtained was different from any action spectrum so far reported for photoinduced carotenogenesis and suggests that a new type of chromoprotein plays a major role as a photoreceptor.
