The photoreceptor cell bodies in cytochalasin D-treated eyes contained more vesicular smooth endoplasmic reticulum than those in the control eye. These results indicate that the disruption of actin organization with cytochalasin D resulted in the accumulation of smooth endoplasmic reticulum.
