Trong xã hội hiện đại, nhu cầu về giao tiếp đa ngôn ngữ, đa văn hóa ngày càng được coi trọng. Ngày nay, ai cũng có thể dễ dàng có trong tay một bản dịch tiếng nước ngoài. Ngày nay, ai cũng có thể dễ dàng tham gia một khóa học về ngôn ngữ, về dịch thuật. Ngày nay, ai cũng có thể dễ dàng tham gia vào công tác dịch thuật. Theo đó, có vô vàn những văn bản đã được dịch, với đa dạng sắc thái và chất lượng khác nhau.\n \nĐánh giá chất lượng dịch thuật không thể thiếu trong các hoạt động nghiên cứu về dịch thuật. Tuy nhiên, do thiếu khung phương pháp luận thích hợp, nên đánh giá bản dịch hiện nay chủ yếu tập trung vào những việc như: sửa chữa từ vựng và cú pháp hoặc phân tích lỗi chứ không phải là việc đánh giá các công việc dịch thuật nói chung.\n \nNhư vậy, vấn đề đặt ra cho những người đánh giá dịch thuật, là một khung phương pháp luận phù hợp. Và, mấu chốt cho khung phương pháp luận đó chính là “tính khách quan” trong đánh giá. Tuy đã có nhiều mô hình lý thuyết đã được đưa ra, nhưng giới dịch thuật vẫn trăn trở với những câu hỏi như: làm thế nào để hạn chế yếu tố chủ quan của người đánh giá bản dịch, những tiêu chuẩn đánh giá như thế nào sẽ có tính đúng với nhiều người đánh giá, cho dù họ nhìn nhận vấn đề từ nhiều chiều hướng khác nhau…\n \nTán thành và kế thừa những thành quả nghiên cứu của những người đi trước như quan điểm về “dynamic equivalence” của Nida, 7 phương thức dịch của Vinay và Darbelnet, mô hình đánh giá chất lượng dịch của House, vv… Trong bài viết này, tác giả khảo sát một số vấn đề liên quan đến mô hình dịch và đánh giá chất lượng dịch thuật. Từ kết quả phân tích, tác giả có đề xuất một số đánh giá khách quan cho một tài liệu dịch. Trong chương cuối, tác giả sử dụng chính những tiêu chuẩn đánh giá đã đề xuất tại chương 3, để phân tích và thực chứng cho mô hình này trong một điều tra thực tế. Hy vọng rằng, thông qua một số tiêu chí đánh giá bản dịch được cung cấp, cũng như việc phân tích thực chứng các vấn đề trong một phần bản dịch cuốn tiểu thuyết “Kokoro” của Natsume Sōseki, sẽ hữu ích cho việc phát triển các khung lý thuyết cho lĩnh vực dịch thuật, và trở thành lý thuyết cơ sở cho các dịch giả trong việc tránh những sai lầm không cần thiết.\n\nTranslation activity began in ancient times. In modern society, the need for multi-language communication is great. These days anyone can easily obtain a translation from a foreign language. These days anyone can easily take a language course or a translation course. This means that almost anyone can participate in the work of translation. Accordingly, there are many texts that have been translated with diverse shades of meaning and different degrees of quality.\n \nAssessment of translation quality based on research into translating methods is indispensable. However, due to the lack of an appropriate methodological framework, current translation assessment mostly focuses on things like fixing vocabulary and syntax or analyzing errors, rather than evaluating the translation work in general.\n \nThus, the problem for the evaluation of a translation is to identify an appropriate methodological framework. And the key to the methodological framework is “objectivity” in the assessment. Although many theoretical models have been put forward, translation assessment is still mostly concerned with matters such as how to reduce the subjective factors of translation and the establishment of criteria by which the assessment could look at problems correctly from many different directions.\n \nScholars today can build on the research achievements of predecessors such as the view of “dynamic equivalence” of Eugene Nida, the seven translation methods of Vinay and Darbelnet, and the quality assessment model of Juliane House. In this essay, the authors examine some of the issues related to translation models and translation quality assessment. They propose some objective measures for assessing a translated document. In the final section of this essay, they apply the assessment criteria they proposed earlier (in the third section) to analyze and demonstrate how their model works in an actual investigation.
